   I bleached my hair, then dyed it pink, then added red roots. I wanted to see what would happen if I put silver over the top of the faded pink hair, and got gunmetal grey! I love it and think it's very cool. The red at my roots obviously shows through but the pink was completely covered. I cant speak to the longevity or how it will fade, but it applied easy, there was juuuust enough for my bra strap length hair, and it cleaned up easily without staining. I would 100% order again.

   So I used this to lighten my hair... mistake. Only use this if you want to keep your hair silver for a while! It is a gorgeous color and perfect for someone who wants silver hair! I tried coloring over it with brown 3 times and NOTHING HAPPENED! It stayed silver! Finally I did a darker brown and now my hair is like a blonde-ish silver color! So this stuff is amazing, just not for what I was trying to use it for! Haha!

   Went from dark auburn to this after 1 color remover and two bleaches thru out a two month period. Totally worth it. My natural color is a yucky dark ashy blonde but again, bleached out. The roots took just fine tho. Beware, if not light blonde or you have too much brass, you'll end up with a brownish grey. Why is it out of stock now that I've finally colored it?! :(

I have noticed that two washes have lightened it a lot more than expected so I'm not sure if this dye will hold the normal amount of time as others but everyone's hair holds colors differently so that may just be a personal experience and not a general.

   The color is awesome. I bleached my hair to platinum first so it took the color really well. However, it didn't dye the sides of my head around my face for some reason. That's where my hair is shorter. I also have a lot of breakage but that's my fault for dying it so many times in a somewhat short period of time. When I first saw the color it was pretty dark and more of a purple or blue than a silver. I used purple shampoo and conditioner and washed it twice and got to the more silver color I wanted.

   Perfect color! I have only some experience with professional coloring products but none of the pro stuff worked as well as this. The color looks exactly like the box shows, BUT I bleached my dark brown hair twice and used color stripper, so it was very white/yellow when I dyed it. After a couple washes it obviously faded, but my usual not-color-safe shampoo is probably not helping. I'll be using this again about a month after the first use. I've trusted L'oreal hair colors to be the best since I was 16, great colors and moisturizing.

   Started with a light yellow and then waited about 10 days to use the silver. I was very anxious Bc I hate the yellow After coloring and hate toning because toner just washes out! I love Just adding the silver to the yellow blonde. I will definitely use another box to Get a better more even color, but over all I love how it turned out! Really want the yellow to go! Probably need 2 boxes to get an even color though. Overall I will purchase again and it was a big improvement for me!

   I wanted to add my review because I really appreciated reading everyone else's thoughts on the product. I had the idea a few months ago to "go silver," and bleached out my hair. I then used the L'Oreal Silver Gray, which turned out dark gray--really pretty but really artificial looking. This Silver Gray was the color I really wanted, but I hesitated because of the bad luck people mentioned here. So I finally tried it, wanting something to work really as just a toner to transform some of my hair that looked more blond than silver. This product was it! I really appreciated that, as the color developed in the bottle, it was a pale lavender (not dark blue) and my hair came out silver (not blue) with maybe a faint hint of lavender. I think the key, as others have said, is to have bleached out hair. I don't believe this product lightens your hair. Hope this is helpful for someone else.
