Our Fat Cat Backpack is airline approved. It depends on the airline, so please check with the specific size requirements before you purchase if that’s the main reason you’re getting it.

So comfortable, your cat will probably use it as a bed when you’re not traveling in it. Put a favorite blanket with its scent, toys, and leave it in an area where they hang out a lot.

First off, let's talk size. This thing is advertised for large cats. I've got a 14 pound tom. He isn't fat, he's just huge; nearly two feet from nose to rump. He fits in this bag, but barely. He's got room to lie down, room to sit up, and just enough room to turn around if he needs to. That said, if I add a blanket as padding in the bottom, he doesn't fit sitting up all the way.
All in all, I like this bag. My cat got used to it pretty quickly, and while he's scared of outside (more specifically, dogs and children) and doesn't want to be trapped in it all day, he does like it. He likes napping in it, he likes going exploring but having a place to hide. I wish the bottom was sturdier and comfier, I wish the leash strap wasn't garbage, and I wish the back was just a little more padded for the wearer. But I would recommend this bag. Just don't trust that strap to hold your cat if you leave the top unzipped.

This is probably the best quality. My cat weighs 10 pound and she has room to move around in the bag. She loves to stick her head out when we walk around outdoor. The shoulder straps are comfortable enough for me to carry her for a couple of hours. I wish it comes in more colors other than brown and gray but this is minor. Overall. I’m very happy that I’ve found this bag and would highly recommend this for pets maybe 15lbs and under.

Got this for a kitten, Monty, so we started with the smaller size cause we don’t even know how big the little guy is going to get. It has taken repetition but ultimately Monty has gotten used to riding along with us on our daily walks. Has tried to jump out twice, the tether inside has done a good job of catching him.
We did try this out on our adult cat, when he jumped out it nearly broke the clasp on the tether. I’ll be looking around to replace the part because it looks strained now. Overall id still recommend this product, it has worked and I plan on buying a larger one if Monty gets big enough to need it.
One thing that has bothered me is how sweaty my back gets with the pack on, but I do live in the south, it is currently hot and humid so that could happen without a pack these days.

I initially got this back pack for our 18lbs cat because it was so hard to get him in and out of his carrier. This back pack makes it a lot easier because I can put him head first in the back pack and zip it up before he has time to turn around and jump out. There’s also a smaller zipper opening.
The dome is hard to get on. I’m not exactly sure how to put it on. I just fidget with it and it snaps on.
I got a second back pack for our kittens and they both fit in it fine. They were aggressively biting the gate to our carrier so this backpack works a lot better.
The bottom has a cushioned floor and is very sturdy. It also folds flat for storage.

Prior to using this backpack, we would use a small backpack that was uncomfortable to bring our cat on bike rides.
Now she has enough room to lay down and nap or look around comfortably. This is of pretty decent quality for the price.

My cats are currently still familiarizing themselves with the product but I’m excited to use. It’s not too large, fits comfortably on me, but fits more bulky for my wife because she’s shorter.

Haven’t found anything I don’t like so far. My boy is big and long so it’s hard to carry him to vet appointments in regular carriers. Heavy, and awkward for both of us. A backpack is perfect. I hike with my dogs and now we don’t have to leave our cat at home! Although we haven’t actually done it yet. We are working up to it. This is sturdy, good size and has comfortable shoulder straps. Love it!

It’s so much easier to put my cat in this carrier than our hard side carrier. So far he hates it but he looks so cute in it. It seems well made and sturdy. The side pockets fit a ton of stuff too. I think it will last for a long time if the cat doesn’t find a way to set it on fire or otherwise get rid of it because he really hates it. Oh, he’s 16lbs if that is helpful to anyone.

Love the size, it's sturdiness, and interchangeable window. My kitty can climb on top of the backpack itself and it won't bend under pressure, she loves to stick her head out of the window, and it still has room for another cat if your cat isn't on the "fluffier" side (written in June 2020)
One year later (April 2021) we got a new kitty and so we got a new backpack! This one had some weird straps on the bottom that the first carrier did not have, also the sides somehow did not seem as sturdy as tree first, but so far it has held up nicely after a flight to New York and back to Los Angeles, a few outdoor hikes and several car rides sooo, weird straps aside, I think it’s safe to say, this bag is a great value for the money.
