Product Features

Squirrels Trouble

Feed The Birds, Not The Squirrels! Keeps squirrels on the ground and away from your bird feeder with Squirrels Trouble. Its unique spring mechanism deters them from gaining access to your bird feeders or birdhouses.

Main Features

  • Automatically Squirrel-Proof: When a squirrel tries to climb the pole to eat the bird feed, the spring ring is designed to start extending under the weight of a squirrel to make the squirrel slide off the pole, while the spring action frightens it away without harm!

  • No Extra Adjustment Settings: The Squirrels Trouble is an individually spring-loaded protection device that never needs adjusting, just attach the spring at the top of the support pole-it is ready to go straight to bounce the squirrel away. Not worrying about squirrels and other pests anymore!

  • Long-range Elasticity: Squirrels Trouble is a spring design, with high-elasticity to extend to enough length and keep a safe distance between bird feed and squirrels, which allows the birds to eat while preventing squirrels from getting a meal, providing a safe place for the birds.
  • This product does not cause harm to animals.

Specifications

Style A:

  • Material: Metal
  • Product Weight: 35g
  • Size: OD 66mm, height 69mm

Style B:

  • Appropriate Design – in perfect 14-18 inch diameter that is needed for aggressive squirrels. Anything smaller than 14-18 inches and the large squirrels can stretch and reach around to defeat the squirrel baffle guard. Squirrels cannot climb the pole any longer to get to the bird seed. Flying squirrels will also fly to the ground if they try to jump from trees as the wobble feature will force them to slip off the baffle.

  • Proper Installation – Squirrels can jump between 4 to 4½ feet vertically, so the squirrel baffles should be a minimum of 5 feet from the ground to protect the bird feeder. The 14-18 inch wrap around squirrel baffle has a take apart design and can quickly attach to existing bird feeder poles or shepherd hooks. Additional pieces that will hold the cover are tapped to the bottom of the unit.
  • 14-inch – finished product diameter 35cm
  • 18 inch – finished product diameter 45cm

Package Include:

  • 1 x Squirrels Trouble

Used this on a larger post (about 4"), so I trimmed the inside circle out with a pair of tin snips. I left several tabs on the inside of the circle so I could attach it to the post with a large hose clamp (stainless steel). It's all well made and very sturdy, and the paint seems durable as well.

A few reviews of this product made me question if it worked. I now believe those are "operator error" issues. I installed on my pole, and even baited them to see if the squirrels could make it up. Not a one has. Nine days, and now they seem to have resigned themselves to just taking the plentiful items left on the ground. For me, this is an A ++++ that does exactly what it is supposed to do. Keep the squirrels away...

I had a problem with a Squirrel and several Chipmunks climbing up the Shepherds hook and emptying the bird feeder. It was a simple install and once on that was the end of the squirrels and chipmunks. Now they hang around under the feeder and clean up what the birds throw out of the feeder. The birds usually throw out the cracked corn out which is great for the squirrels and chipmunks

This works great to keep the squirrels from reaching the bird feeder and suet hanging on a Shepard hook.
It took them quite a few times trying to figure out they were not longer going to clean out the bird seed.
And it was fun to watch try over & over!

Works great on a single shepherds hook. On the right is this item! On the left is a regular slinky. Regular slinky didn't work as well, less sturdy. This item cost a little more but it works! No chipmunks/squirrels on my feeders!! I imagine you could remove the slinky clip and wind it around a double hook. That's what's I did with the regular slinky. ????

Quality little gem that keeps the squirrels away. The only reason I rated it 4 star for the assembly is due to the fact that I could have used an extra hand placing the screws; however, I was able to manage by myself...67 year young lady.

We have tried every feeder under the sun and none of them keeps squirrels out of the food. These baffles work. The only problem I encountered was the shepherds hook is too skinny for the supplied fitting on the baffle. I wrapped duct tape around the pole to make it thicker and now the baffle stays in place. Our bird seed now seems to last forever and it is fun to watch frustrated squirrels on our Ring yard cameras.

This is a very effective squirrel prevention system which takes the frustration out of owning a birdfeeder. Previously, we had squirrels who were very savvy in trying to bypass other squirrel buster systems that we tried. But when we used this product it was very sturdy, well built, and no matter how hard the squirrels try they could not get past it. The only reason I raided it just a little bit lower was the fact that we have a strong but thin metal shepherds hook that we hang the birdfeeder and this product on. In my opinion a adapter which allowed me to clamp to a thinner pole would’ve made it easier to install. Instead I used a series of clamps and cable ties to form a barrier wide enough for the house designed clamp that came with the unit. Everything works fine, even with heavy wins this has not moved or fallen off.

Brace for baffle does not fit securely on shepherd hook. Had to apply guerilla tape underneath to keep from sliding down pole.
