Works great, if you end up with a weird looking frisbee, go back & read the instructions. Once we figured that out, they're awesome :) Ice balls melt far slower than cubes or other traditional ice used in drinks, meaning your drink stays colder longer without getting watered down anywhere near as fast. You also go through a lot less ice since they tend to last through more than 1 drink.

I never knew I needed ice balls... yes, ice balls. This mold is one of a kind. The instructions are simple: Pour the water (I use bottled spring water) into the mold until 3/4 full, put on the lid, and push a little so the water comes out. Put into the freezer overnight and voila! Beautiful, clear and perfectly round ice balls for your old fashioned or manhattan glass. Definitely adds a touch of class, and doesn't dilute your drink. Don't know how I lived without this. Compact and fits nicely in my little freezer. I will also experiment and freeze juices with bits of fruit in them. Will be quite fancy. I highly recommend.

I love the compact design of this mold. It takes up very little room in my small freezer. The ice balls come out easily. I bought this for my Chill cup to replace the bagged ice (which takes up way too much room). The first time, I put two balls in and was disappointed when they melted after a couple of hours. That didn't happen when I added all four the next time. The balls stayed frozen for up to six hours before I noticed a thaw. I'm tempted to order another mold to have as a backup. Highly recommended.

This works well for what I expected it to do. I watched the YouTube instructional video and when I followed the directions on creating them and breaking off the excess ice, I got rounded ice balls. There was a little bit of an ice residue line around the middle where the top & bottom halves of the mold met up, but it certainly did not detract from what I needed. I did not take the time to boil water several times to attempt to get clear ice cubes--for my use, this was not necessary. I did use spring water, though, not tap water or filtered tap water.

It takes a little practice to get the hang of using this tray, but once you do, it's great. My first attempt I overfilled the bottom tray and water came out the holes in the top, the sides, and sprayed all over the counter. Whoops. Emptied and tried it again. The water sits on the top outside of the tray, and I couldn't help myself from wanting to pour that off before putting it in the freezer. That's a mistake because tilting it drains the ball molds too. Don't worry about it. Just put it in the freezer. What you're doing is two things - you're freezing a blob of water all around the filled spheres, and then you're breaking the ice all around those spheres so that they are smooth. When they say "be aggressive" they mean it - you must be in order to break all the ice around every sphere.

Really cool product. Easy to pop the ice out of the container because of its flexible material. The top and bottom fits one inside the other however you have to stop filling this without overflowing otherwise your ice ball has a little stick on top... which is truly no big deal. Item came fast which is surprising because I’m in Hawaii. Usually takes about a week but this came in two days.

Ok, it makes ice balls. And the kids actually fight over them. Seriously, right? Who fights over ice? It makes round frozen water well. And it does really seem to not melt as quickly. I'm glad it's BPA free considering how much this get used. My only regret is that it only makes 4. I'm going to have to purchase additional ones. Ironically this frustrates me because I have a perfectly functioning ice maker in my freezer. Reluctantly, I have to admit it's a great product.

I bought this mold about three months ago. The mold works remarkably well. The ice balls usually come out as you'd like (if you don't fill the tray properly, you CAN get some funky-looking results). The mold is pretty easy to fill, freeze, and empty. And the ice balls are neat and really do seem superior to the smaller cubes in terms of drink watering and chilling. And the best part is that you can just throw the mold in the dishwasher when you start getting that hard water build-up on the tray. All told, I'm pretty happy with this purchase.

These work really well. I was worried that the ice wouldn’t come out round or it would be difficult to use. They ended up working great. There we a very slight learning curve to getting perfectly round balls. But if you flex the mold in all directions before you open the mold to remove the ice, it breaks off the rings around the outside.
