This will really cut. But wear leather gloves and hold on tight both hands. It doesn't mess around.. It would make a nasty wound. It would "keal". I had tree root knees coming up in my yard and was tired of dulling chainsaw chains cutting out roots to get rid of the root knees.. This allowed me to shave them off ground level without digging out the root. The first chain eventually dulled, but not as fast and a chainsaw chain cutting dirt. I don't would sculpt, but I bet it would be great for that too.

If you have no or little experience with how a chainsaw reacts under certain circumstances or have very little time using power tools in general this is NOT for you! Eye, face and Level 5 gloves mandatory! Make sure to hold on tightly with both hands and keep away from all body parts. Would not recommend with use with DeWalt 13 amp grinder too hard to control. Would recommend for experience users only!

The best tool I have ever used to cut or carve with. had five 14 inch diameter hardwood stumps that I could not cut out with my chainsaw. I installed this tool to my grinder, and I couldn’t believe how quickly it cut out the stumps below ground level, and allows me to mow over them without my mower blades hitting them. The cutter stayed sharp after all this cutting. It is a dangerous tool, but you need to remember to install it in the direction arrows indicate, to match he direction your grinder turns. Also hold tool firmly using both hands. I also wore a full face shield to protect my eyes and face. I took the stumps a layer at a time. Highly recommended.

I’m a wood worker and use this for roughing out projects for my lathe or general purpose carving on hardwoods such as walnut, cherry, maple, and aspen. I wrongly assumed that handling this saw blade in my grinder would be similar to the strength used to control my chainsaw. Welp, it’s not. Not even close.
Hope you have confidence in your grip and arm strength because this thing will do its utmost best to go squirrelly in your hands while you carve. It’s amazing when you get the hang of it, but the first time buyer should be very cautious.

if you are carving out wood with this .... I have to say this because I usually don't write reviews, but this thing is the cats meow... the ease of using it was awesome.. I can't say enough about it. I used it for 3 hours straight and it did great... total I've used it for about 7 hours and having sharpened it yet... so I would say if you are into carving or cutting (small) branches I would recommend.. I was cutting white oak and was like a hot knife through butter. I wasn't paid for this review I was just that impressed

Putting up a retaining wall which will have an 8" Corrugated Culvert Pipe running through it. You Tube had a video of a similar situation and the fellow had one of these to cut/trim the 9-1/2" diameter cutout for the pipe in my 6 x 6 timbers being used for the retaining wall. I was a little concerned about how aggressive it would be, but if you take your time, only cut as you pull it towards you, take lots of small cuts rather than a big bite...it works very well. Really had no issues and you get the hang of it pretty quickly. If concerned , try on a test piece first. But I went for it and all good. Another useful tool to have around.
As for comments regarding assembly, I did not have any issues. It has some clips holding it together. So just installed on my angle grinder then removed the clips. Please use the guard and the handle on your angle grinder. I did not experience any kick, but it can, so be wise.

I bought this tool to make some legs for a rustic table. It is built very well and comes with an extra chain. I used to on Walnut and the wood removal was pretty quick. It creates a lot of dust so be sure and wear all your PPE, I would also advise a heavy leather apron or something to protect your legs just in case the chain could possibly come off though very unlikely.

Used it for making a kuksa and a few other projects out of a hardwood. Make no mistake it is an extremely aggressive wheel. Great for shaping wood but use with caution. Do not use it without protective gear as it essentially is a chainsaw blade.
