Bottle Cutter & Glass Cutter Kit

The Bottle Cutter was designed to be the ultimate handheld bottle cutter. The cutting wheel is made from high-quality tungsten carbide steel that lasts over 200 cuts. It adjusts to fit round bottles with a circumference ranging from 43 to 102mm.

Features

  • This bottle cutter uses a durable metal holder and a high-quality plastic body that can make sure long service life and bottle being cut neatly.

  • Sturdier and easier to use than all other models, this highly durable bottle cutter will help you cutting bottles perfectly in a few steps.

  • With this method of recycling, you can turn many kinds of bottles into drinking glasses, vases, or other vessels.

  • Scoring Process: Insert a bottle into the Glass Bottle Cutter so that the cutting wheel lines up to the desired cutting location and adjust the screws until it grasps the bottle firmly but still allows it to easily turn.

  • Separation Process: Place a separation tie on each side of the scoreline and pour alternating streams of boiling and cold water to stress the glass. It can handle thick and thin bottles just fine, however, the thicker glass may require more cycles of boiling and cold water to force the separation.

  • Finishing Process: Apply sandpaper to easily remove any sharp edge. We tend to cut bottles with attractive painted labels because preserving paper labels is a challenge. The variety of bottles is endless, and so are the projects you can create with the Glass Bottle Cutter.

How to use

Adjust the cutter: Insert a glass bottle into the cutter and tighten the screw, make sure the cutting wheel can touch the bottle with pressure.

  • Cut a line on the bottle: This is exactly the same as making a score line when glass cutting. Using one hand rotate the cutter and another hand to keep the bottle sturdy. This will take practice if you have never used a cutter to cut glass before. Only cut around the bottle once.

Ok so I have an Etsy shop where I sell bottle crafts, and I genuinely think this is an amazing product. I have used just one other bottle cutter (which I got from amazon also) and I could almost never get one continuous etch line even when I pressed pretty hard and repositioned the blade. And I’ve been doing this now for almost two years. With this one from homeproshops I had to put about half the amount of pressure, and my score line was perfect every time. I etched 8 bottles in a row of all different textures and sizes. None of my bottles cracked when I was trying to separate them, when normally probably a little less than half were cracking when I used my previous bottle cutter. Another plus is that it came preassembled and with a pair of gloves. And to change the length of the cut all you have to do is turn a knob. It was so simple and worked so well! This is honestly the simplest tool I think I’ve seen for bottle cutting for beginners. Highly recommend.

I think this gift would be great for making wind chimes out of glass bottles that we throw out anyway. I love wind chimes and I think this bottle cutter will help make that happen. However, I haven't had a chance to use it for that yet and when I do, I will leave a follow-up review. It is very durable and a great value for the money but I thought there was more to it than what I received such as sandpaper and an instruction book. I will have to recheck the ad. I did make vases out of cool liquor bottles and gave them as gifts. Now is a great time to get creative while working from home. Thank you for a rewarding gift. I hope y'all are safe and well! It is extremely satisfying to see a bottle split cleanly in half :D. I've had really good results so far. It usually takes two cycles of boiling/cold water for mine to split. I use two containers in the sink, one with freshly boiled water and the other with cold tap water with some ice cubes added. Looking at the tool I see it's made of off the shelf components that I could probably do myself for half the price. If I need another one I will try making it myself, but this is well put together and easily worth it for getting started.

It would be easier to make a precise cut if there was a guide to maintain pressure being applied at the end. It would of course need to be adjustable. I am still practicing, but I have literally waited for a device like this for years & am very pleased. I was really happy to receive the instructions to get a free bottle of "cutting oil" & I followed the instructions to obtain my free bottle but have not yet received the oil. I havent received any confirmation that it is even on the way but I'll continue waiting in Hope's that it will arrive soon.

This was easy to set up and use. Never having done any bottle or glass cutting before, my first run was still successful, and made it very easy for the second and third bottles. Score one ring, use tongs to submerge in a pot of near-boiling water for 30 seconds, submerge in a pot full of ice water, and it separates the bottle along the line. Once all set up it is easy to do a bunch in a matter of minutes. Some bottles will crack. I'm sure I will get better at doing these consistently better.

This item i can say it’s like described! Easy to use, just be carefully at cuting glass! You don’t want to cut in the glass. But they also offer you protection gloves soo that will help as well! I bought it to cut some beer bottles and to use them like support for different things, and in the same time to look different custom made. I can say it did the job! But pay atention to all details of using it! Try not to get cut in the glass!

I had great success with this bottle cutter after just a few test runs. Don’t forget to take the top off the bottle! I recommend making a small mark at the starting point so you can see when you’ve made a full cut—you don’t want to go around more than once. Then just alternate boiling water and ice water over the cut unit the bottle falls apart.

I chose the bottle cutter trying to make the best balance between price and users' feedbacks. And I wasn't wrong. I thought for a long time about buying one, but I wasn't sure I'd be able to use it right. Well, I broke two bottles, but then it ended up by working fine. Easy to use, sturdy enough, wife happy, me happy...what else could I want? Another nice hobby, with "wow!" comments from friends and family.

Love this bottle cutter, have others, and this one works so much better. I like how it's easy to stabilize the bottle to etch the line in the bottle. I used three bottles to practice on and each one cut so perfectly I can make 4 different windchimes from the pieces. The beads glued to the tops make the bottles hang straight when you hang them. 2 finished and 2 to go.

Finally cut my first of many bottles with this cutter, and it was pretty easy to do. Instructions are very helpful (I followed them exactly). I used my electric tea kettle for the hot water and it was a perfect 200 degrees. Then used ice water for the cold water, I had to dip back and forth a few times but after the 3rd time the top separated perfectly. I did have to cut 2 times around but only because I had several spots where it wasn’t cut at all. At the end when your sanding it make sure you wet your sandpaper!! The instructions do not say to do this! I ended up going on you tube to see how to do it properly. But this kit is great so far. I’m sure the next bottles will get easier and easier.
