I was changing the sprayer part of kitchen faucet and needed to remove the main nut under the sink holding holding the faucet in place. The faucet had been there for several years and had adhered itself to the bolt. I tried every tool i had and could not break the nut after several attempts. I went purchased the basin wrench and was able to break the nut on the first try. It was definitely worth the purchase.

Using this tool was able to repair a leaky coupling under a tap below the sink by touch alone as not able to view. This was only possible because of the excellent design of this tool; the head stays at the angle it is set at and the spring on the jaws allows it to be used as a ratchet. Jaws appear to be cast-iron on the one I received without any plating and need to be oiled after use to stop corrosion. As an engineer of 50 years plus really good design delights me, this tool most certainly does.
