Have used a few times since they arrived. They work as described. If you take your time and are careful the mortise hole is perfect. Drill bit and square hole punch are extremely sharp, just what you want in this kind of tool.

GREAT ! Drop in replacement for a much older chisel, but fits my machine perfectly. Straight out of the box, it benefits from some TLC to get the best cut. I lapped and polished the sides, and gave the inside a touch up with my conical diamond hone. Had good results in Western Red Cedar - effortless cutting, and a great smooth cut in the sidewall.

Most of the sets come in only four sizes, this one comes in eight sizes expanding it capability to a wider range of hardware installation situations. I have only tied one of the bigger sized bit in oak and it drills a nice clean hole right in the center of the screw opening. The set look very nicely finished and the extra bits only add to the value of this tool. The extra bits also add a big convenience to the product as you always have them to fall back on until you can replace a dull bit or purchase another one.

Good to have a variety of sizes. Spare bits to install and the necessary hex key also supplied. My only suggestion would be to improve the box. The foam that keeps the different size bits is pretty flimsy. Try a denser kind of foam and maybe a bigger plastic box that would make it possible to not cut the foam all the way through.

I was excited to get these to help me get the hinges on my current project hung right. I tried them out on a small piece of wood first to see how they will do. Seems like they will work just fine. There was a few slivers of metal that came out of the drill bit but didn’t affect how it worked. The plastic case they come in is ok, saw several reviews about it and the foam being flimsy. I think it’s fine and it keeps them together.

Instead of using a spring-loaded cone to center the drill, these tools use spring-loaded drill-bushings. This requires more time to select the best-fitting tool, but results in more accurate centering of the hole than the spring-loaded cone. This feature would be more appreciated by a machinist doing occasional woodwork (that's me!) than a carpenter on a time-constrained job.

I cannot speak yet to durability, but I DO think these are great for my occasional use. Wide range of sizes, easy to adjust. If, like me, you could use something like these no more than 100 or so times per year, I would strongly suggest them. I don't know how they would hold up for a pro, though I suspect that even then the value would more than mitigate the "durability" metric.

I don't use self centering bits often. When I do it matters. So I bought these as it gives me a great selection, extra bits, and they function very well. Right now I am mounting hardware on a boat I am building. Installing the drain plug assemblies in the transom was the first task I used these on. You don't get second chances here. All the holes must be perfect. The bit worked great. I expect the rest will perform the same.

The Werkzeug Self Centering Drill Bit Set performed well In several sizes of countersink tap drilling. I used 3 of the sizes over several days and had consistent results. The bit is centered by the nose when placed in a countersink such as a hinge. I found the case serviceable. These are a good value. Thanks DMWorrel
